The difference between single vane pump and double vane pump

Vane pump is a kind of equipment widely used in fluid transmission and pressurization. According to different structures and usage methods, vane pumps can be divided into single vane pumps and double vane pumps. Although they are both vane pumps, they have significant differences in design, performance, application scenarios, etc.

1. Structural differences

Single vane pump: A single vane pump usually has only one independent pump body. A set of vanes rotate in the pump body to generate suction and discharge forces, thereby realizing fluid transmission and pressurization. Its structure is relatively simple and easy to maintain.

Double vane pump: A double vane pump is composed of two independent pump bodies, each pump body is equipped with a set of rotating vanes. The two pump bodies can be used in series or parallel to meet different fluid transmission and pressurization needs. The structure of the double vane pump is relatively complex, but it has higher flexibility and scalability.

2. Performance differences

Single vane pump: The performance of a single vane pump is relatively stable, but because there is only one pump body, its flow rate and head are relatively limited. At the same time, single-vane pumps are easily affected by impurities and particles in the fluid during operation, causing blade wear or blockage.

Double vane pump: Because the double vane pump has two pump bodies, it has higher flow and lift. At the same time, since the two pump bodies can work independently, when one pump body fails, the other pump body can still continue to work, thus improving the reliability of the system. In addition, the design of the hydraulic double vane pump makes it easier to adapt to different working environments and fluid characteristics.

3. Differences in application scenarios

Single vane pump: Single vane pump is usually suitable for scenarios that do not require high flow and lift, such as household water use, small irrigation, etc. In addition, due to its simple structure and low price, single-vane pumps are also widely used in some cost-sensitive occasions.

Double vane pump: Double vane pump is more suitable for scenarios with higher flow and lift requirements, such as large-scale irrigation, industrial fluid transmission, etc. In addition, due to its high reliability and flexibility, double vane pumps are also widely used in some special working environments, such as sewage treatment, ship power systems, etc.
